Family dramas work but not every time, we should have more modern, youth-centric TV shows: Saurabh Kaushik

Saurabh Kaushik is all for “content is king”. The Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! actor explains how if the concept and of course the performance is good then only it draws the audience. A well-written can do wonders.


“If your writing is amazing and connects with our day-to-day lives coupled with good presentation and performance by actors that makes for a good product. Only popular stars or good locations can’t make a film or show or series a hit. Audience need to feel the connect with the story,” he adds.


When show makers experimenting with content, they do get appreciated by the audience, feels the actor.


“Audience wants to see variety. They have also become accepting to new concepts. Family dramas still work but not every time. We also need to have more modern, youth centric TV shows. It’s the time of realistic content more than the make believe world. Web has grown so much because the content is real and therefore relatable. TV shows also needs to do that. Innovation and that too in the right direction is the need of the hour,” he explains.


As an actor too, according to Bajaj, exploring newer challenges is exciting. After all new tings help an artiste grow.


So what has been his challenging role so far in his career? “Every character is challenging, so it won’t be right to take just one name. I have mostly played light-hearted roles but moving ahead I would like to play intense, dark roles,” says the actor adding that he enjoys doing comedy too and is happy that his role in Jijaji Chhat Parr Koi Hai are being liked by the audience.
